How can Sports Therapy help?
Our bodies are designed to move. Experiencing pain can impact our confidence and make us anxious about certain movements. It is normal to accept these fears and adapt to them by finding new ways to move that don’t result in pain. Over time this can result in guarded and restricted movement which interferes with daily life.
Our Sports Injury Clinic is run by an experienced team of Sports Therapists and Sports Rehabilitators. We are on hand to help the professional and amateur athletes, the weekend warriors and those just starting out on their exercise journey. If you’re looking for advice on how to recover from an existing injury or are wanting help in preventing future mishaps, our team is here.
During your initial consultation, your clinician will discuss your personal treatment plan based on your symptoms and goals. You may need a course of hands-on treatment before we start prescribing specific movements and challenges. The plan is designed to take you from what you can currently do, to what you want to do; that may be picking your socks up off the floor, or performing a deadlift.
We know everyone moves differently so our main aim is to create a rehabilitation programme that gets you back to pain-free and unrestricted movement with graded exposure to activity. It is important that we work with you so you feel comfortable in engaging with the plan and that it challenges you in the way you need.
