Chiropractic Care for Whole Body Health
Chiropractic is a regulated primary healthcare profession that focuses on diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal disorders, with an emphasis on the spine.
Our skilled chiropractors use hands-on adjustments and other techniques to alleviate pain, restore function, and prevent further injury as well as offer exercises and lifestyle advice. We create individual treatment plans, not just to get you out of pain, but to help you reach your goals and feel your best.
Chiropractic can help manage and treat a variety of conditions:
- Back pain
- Neck Pain
- Athritic Pain
- Headaches / Migraine
- Hip / Knee / Ankle pain
- Shoulder Pain
- Elbow Pain
- Sports Injuries
- Pregnancy Back Pain
- Trapped Nerves
It’s important to note that while chiropractic care can be highly effective for these conditions, it may not be suitable for everyone. If your chiropractor does not believe that you would benefit from chiropractic care, they will liaise with your GP to ensure that you are getting the most appropriate treatment.
Your Path to Optimal Health
We take a holistic approach to chiropractic care. We understand that every patient is different, which is why we create personalised treatment plans to address your specific health concerns. Our chiropractic services aim to:
- Relieve Pain: Through adjustments of the spine and joints, alongside other manual therapies, we help alleviate pain and discomfort.
- Restore Function: By improving joint mobility, we enhance your body’s natural ability to function and heal.
- Prevent Injuries: Regular chiropractic care can help prevent injuries and maintain your overall health and wellness.
With this natural approach, Chiropractic care can also improve sleep quality, emotional wellbeing and improved mood. Many of our happy patients also report needing to use less pain medication and have a positive outlook on life.

Your Chiropractic questions answered
We understand that you may have many questions about chiropractic care and how it can benefit you. Our aim is to provide you with comprehensive information to help you feel confident and informed about your treatment options.
Here you will find answers to some of the most common questions we receive about chiropractic care. Whether you’re new to chiropractic or looking to deepen your understanding, we’re here to help you every step of the way.
What conditions can Chiropractic help with?
Chiropractic care can help with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and related pain. For example:
- Back and Neck Pain: Chiropractors can manage acute and chronic back and neck pain through a variety of techniques.
- Headaches and Migraines: Chiropractic treatments can help alleviate tension headaches and in some cases reduce the frequency of migraines.
- Joint Pain: Chiropractic care can help manage joint pain such as in arthritis.
- Nerve pain such as sciatica: Chiropractic care includes hands on treatment and exercise rehabilitation which can help manage the pain associated with irritation of the nerves such as the sciatic nerve.
Chiropractic care can also support you through episodes of discomfort as a result of:
- Pregnancy.
- Sports injuries, such as ankle sprains.
- Postural issues, such as prolonged desk based work.
It’s important to note that while chiropractic care can be highly effective for these conditions, it may not be suitable for everyone. Individuals with certain health issues, such as severe osteoporosis or inflammatory arthritis, should consult with their GP before seeking chiropractic treatment.
Is Chiropractic safe? Are treatments painful?
At Spinavita all our chiropractors are trained and registered with the General Chiropractic Council. They conduct a thorough examination before commencing treatment to ensure the safety of their patients.
The treatment options provided are gentle, precise, and non-invasive. While some patients may experience mild discomfort or soreness after an appointment, the treatment is not typically painful, as it is planned for your tolerance level.
What should I expect during my first visit?
- Prior to your first appointment, you will be asked to complete a short questionnaire regarding your current health. This can be completed at home or upon your arrival at the clinic.
- Your first visit will start with a comprehensive case history, which is your opportunity to talk to your chiropractor about your problem, how it is affecting you and what you would like to achieve from treatment.
- A physical examination will follow to help your chiropractor understand the cause and diagnosis of your condition. Gowns are provided if you need to remove any items of clothing.
- If further investigations are required to assist this process, for example x-rays, MRI scans or blood tests, this will be discussed with you and arranged.
- Your chiropractor will then discuss what they have concluded from their examination and how it is best treated. They will then work with you to create a personal treatment plan that is suitable to your needs.
- Your first treatment is usually included in your first appointment and could involve a number of different therapies.
What does a Chiropractic adjustment involve?
A chiropractic adjustment involves the use of controlled, gentle force applied to specific joints, primarily in the spine. This helps to restore proper alignment, improve mobility, and alleviate pain. The adjustment is tailored to your unique condition and comfort level, and we always ensure you’re informed throughout the process.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments varies depending on your specific condition, health goals, and how your body responds to chiropractic care. Some patients feel relief after just one session, while others may need ongoing care over several weeks or months. During your initial consultation, we’ll create a personalised treatment plan that fits your needs.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
There’s no special preparation needed for your chiropractic appointment. However, we recommend wearing comfortable, loose fitting clothing and staying hydrated. If it’s your first visit, bringing any relevant medical information or imaging (like x-rays) can also be helpful.
Do I need a referral to see a Chiropractor?
No, you do not need a referral to see a chiropractor. You can book an appointment directly with us whenever you’re ready to begin your chiropractic care journey. However, some insurance plans may require a referral, so it’s always a good idea to check with your provider if you plan to use insurance.
Is Chiropractic covered by insurance?
Most insurance companies will cover chiropractic or sports therapy treatments. Specifically what they cover will vary from insurance provider, therefore we recommend speaking to your insurance company to find out their policies prior to attending your appointment.
Spinavita has at least one Chiropractor registered with the major insurance companies including:
- BUPA
