Sports TherapyStrength & ConditioningLaser Therapy

Having worked in both sporting and general populations over the past few years, my knowledge on injuries has really grown. Along with working at Spinavita, I also work for a local rugby team where I run a busy clinic for players and provide pitch side first aid. I am very passionate about Sports Therapy and feel very excited to be able to help people through their injury recovery. I work really closely with my clients in order to best support them. Each person is unique and therefore require bespoke treatment and rehabilitation plans. I love the variety of people I treat, and feel very rewarded knowing I’ve made a difference to someone’s life.

What’s a common misconception about your area of expertise that you’d like to clear up?

We commonly get confused for Physio Therapy or just massage. This is not the case. As a Sport Therapist our aim is to help people suffering from pain, injury or illness. We provide detailed rehabilitation plans which are bespoke and detailed. We work with all populations, not just the sporting ones!

How do you stay up to date with the latest developments in your field?

I thoroughly enjoy online webinars, particularly ones I can do Q+A’s with. These are really helpful, and normally lead by researchers, so I always know I am getting the most up to date knowledge in my field of work. As well as this, I do a lot of reading through research papers, particular interest is exercise rehabilitation post injury.

What’s your favourite treatment or technique to perform and why?

I love performing stretching techniques. I enjoy these are my clients see a great improvement in their range of movement in a short amount of time, and can add another depth to our massage techniques.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not helping patients?

I love spending time at my local rugby club. We are big on family and often have socials and events on. Outside of my social life I enjoy various types of exercise like rugby, gym, walking and water sports.

What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?

My favourite way to unwind after a busy day is some form of self care. Recently its been doing my nails or going in the jacuzzi!

What’s your go-to snack during the workday?

My go to snack is always protein or fruit driven! It keeps me feeling full and helps me maintain good muscle mass. Snacks such as yoghurt, boiled eggs, banana or dates are my top choices.

If you weren’t working in healthcare, what would you be doing?

I always thought if I didn’t work in this sector, I would be an interior designer. I always watch these programs on Netflix and think that could easily be me! If not that, something in travel like an air hostess.
