Sebastian has always had a deep passion for physiotherapy, which began during his own personal journey with injuries as a football player. Over the years, he sustained multiple hamstring and
ligament injuries and through these challenges, he came to understand the significance of rehabilitation — not only from a physical standpoint but also from a psychological one. This understanding has been further strengthened during his clinical training as a student physiotherapist.
Throughout my three years at the University of Gloucestershire, I gained hands-on experience across a variety of physiotherapy disciplines, which has helped me develop a well-rounded approach to patient care. These experiences have been pivotal in shaping me as a physiotherapist, driving my commitment to helping others recover, regain confidence and return to their best selves.

I first gained an interest in physiotherapy through my own experiences of injuries and setbacks when playing football at a younger age. I had experienced a variety of injuries, particularly struggling with hamstring strains, meaning I was often deprived of partaking in something that I cared about so much. In these periods I not only understood the physical difficulties but the psychological struggles. Around this time, I knew that if I was able to aid someone through the process of injury and help them return to something that they love, but also help maintain an overall quality of life then I was willing to do this exactly.
As someone who truly enjoys seeing others happy and rejuvenated, there’s nothing more fulfilling than watching a patient walk out of a session feeling better—both physically and mentally—than when they walked in. Knowing that I’ve played a part in helping someone move more freely, live without pain, or simply feel more confident in their body makes all the hard work worth it. It’s not just about treating injuries—it’s about bringing people back to the life they love. If I can be a facilitating component to helping someone obtain a goal on any scale, despite them often seeming to be discouraged or as if these goals are farfetched initially. I like to be a reminder that anything is possible with hard work and consistency.
A common misconception is that physiotherapy is limited to a few physical exercises or adaptations. In reality, it often involves comprehensive lifestyle adjustments and guidance that go beyond just the physical aspect. Another misconception is that physiotherapy is only necessary after an injury, surgery, or accident. In fact, it can be highly effective for managing everyday aches, pains, posture issues, and muscle tension. Physiotherapy isn’t just a reactive treatment—it can also serve as a preventative approach, especially for individuals who are physically active.
I regularly research and also watch a lot of videos of other practitioners to gain knowledge and attain new knowledge and perspectives.
After a stressful day, I like to unwind by doing a few things that help me clear my mind and relax. I tend to release any built-up tension through a good workout. The physical activity helps me refocus and boosts my mood. If I’m still feeling a bit overwhelmed, I’ll go for a walk—just being outside and getting some fresh air makes a big difference. I also find comfort in listening to music; to help me wind down, it always helps me reset. These simple routines help me reduce stress and feel more grounded by the end of the day.
