“I am truly passionate about chiropractic care and love working with a diverse range of people, each with their own unique problems and stories. It’s incredibly rewarding to help individuals who have endured pain for months or even years, and help them get back on track to feeling like themselves again. I also find great fulfillment in empowering patients to take an active role in their own health, showing them how they can support their recovery. Whether it’s relieving discomfort or improving mobility, seeing the positive impact on their lives keeps me to keep doing what I love.”
Let's learn more about Sydney
How did you first get interested in your field of work?
I originally wanted to get into Equine Chiropractic and at the time you had to study the human side first. Whilst at University I learnt and first hand saw the impact it could have on people which convinced me to stick with the human side of it. (although who knows, maybe in a few years I might give horses a go!)
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is helping people truly understand their pain and educating them on how they can actively manage and prevent it. By giving people knowledge and strategies for self care, I can help them stay as pain free as possible, which makes a lasting difference in their quality of life.
What’s a common misconception about your area of expertise that you’d like to clear up?
Chiropractic care isn’t just for back pain; it can address a wide range of issues including neck pain, extremity joint discomfort, headaches, jaw pain and much more. By focusing on the spine and nervous system, chiropractic care helps improve overall body function, mobility, making it beneficial for many different conditions.
How do you stay up to date with the latest developments in your field?
We are supported by excellent organisations such as the British Chiropractic Association and the General Chiropractic Council, which help us stay up to date with the latest research and provide a variety of seminars throughout the year. Additionally, I seek out courses that are both interesting and beneficial, allowing me to continually expand my skill set and better help my patients.
What’s your favourite treatment or technique to perform and why?
My favourite treatment to perform is chiropractic adjustments. It’s what we chiropractors do best, and I find it incredibly effective in providing pain relief and improving overall function for patients.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not helping patients?
Anything outdoors, my current favourite things to do outside include road cycling and walking the local rescue dogs! and when the weather isn’t looking great baking sour dough and sweet treats is my go to thing.
What’s your favourite way to unwind after a busy day?
Cooking – I love finding new recipes to try out!
What’s your go-to snack during the workday?
Anything with chocolate really.
If you weren’t working in healthcare, what would you be doing?
I’d definitely be working with horses, not entirely sure what job I would have but that was my original plan. .
